Week 1: Introduction & Water Control
- Understanding watercolor supplies and surfaces
- Basic washes: flat wash, gradient wash, variegated wash
- Water control techniques and brush handling
Week 2: Color Theory & Blending
- Color wheel, harmony & contrast
- Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques
- Controlled blending & bloom control
Week 3: Texture & Layering
- Creating textures using salt, sponge, cling wrap, etc.
- Building depth with transparent layers
- Lifting techniques and masking
Week 4: Landscape Studies
- Skies, clouds, mountains, and natural textures
- Layered landscapes with foreground & background
- Light & shadow in outdoor scenes
Week 5: Still Life & Object Rendering
- Still life compositions and object detailing
- Working with shadows and reflections
- Natural & manmade textures (glass, metal, cloth)
Week 6: Floral & Botanical Watercolor
- Painting loose and realistic flowers
- Studying leaves, petals, and natural forms
- Depth and rhythm in botanical compositions
Week 7: Human Figures & Portraits in Watercolor
- Watercolor techniques for skin tones
- Loose human figure studies
- Painting expressive faces and features
Week 8: Final Composition + Portfolio Review
- Creating a final artwork using all techniques
- Personalized portfolio feedback
- Tips for framing, preserving, and exhibiting artwork
