Week 1: Tools, Techniques & Tonal Study
- Introduction to graphite & charcoal tools
- Tonal scale, gradients, pressure control
- Blending techniques (tissue, stumps, fingers)
Week 2: Textures & Surfaces
- Creating textures: skin, wood, metal, cloth
- Eraser techniques for highlights
- Tonal layering and smudging control
Week 3: Light & Shadow Fundamentals
- Direct vs diffused light
- Cast shadows, reflected light
- Working with high contrast references
Week 4: Still Life Composition
- Drawing objects with multiple textures
- Focus on depth, realism & proportion
- Study of light source within composition
Week 5: Indoor Scene Sketching
- Composing interior sketches using charcoal
- Playing with atmosphere and mood
- Mixed use of graphite and charcoal
Week 6: Human Anatomy Basics
- Proportions of face and full human figure
- Blocking & shading the human form
- Gesture drawing + focus on posture
Week 7: Portrait Rendering
- Eyes, nose, lips, hair detailing
- Realistic portrait in graphite
- Charcoal portrait with soft & bold contrasts
Week 8: Final Project & Portfolio Review
- Create one complete still life OR portrait artwork
- Personalized feedback & improvement discussion
- Final portfolio tips and certificate eligibility check
